SUPPORTING CRAFT

With a background as a trained silversmith with experience in product development and as a trade silversmith, I am passionate about supporting the industry and individual  craftspeople through communications, event development and strategic direction.

I love nothing more than problem solving and working closely with makers and association to find creative solutions. I have worked with the Goldsmiths’ Company, Contemporary British Silversmiths, Hand Engravers Association and the Serpentine Galleries among others. I have mentored silversmiths Angela Cork and Rauni Higson over several years.

I am a member of the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and a Freeman of the City of London.

SILVER SPEAKS

Silver Speaks was a 15 month long multi event programme that I conceived and delivered for Contemporary British Silversmiths and was designed to champion makers within the British silversmithing community and put contemporary silver front and centre in the press.

The programme was delivered in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Goldsmiths’ Company in 2016 with additional partnerships developed with Georg Jensen, London Craft Week, the London Design Festival and culminating in a sale at Bonhams.

The programme comprised exhibitions, talks, demonstrations, workshops and a public symposium all designed to showcase the work and breadth of skill of silversmiths in the United Kingdom.

The focus exhibition was curated by design critic and journalist Corinne Julius on the theme of Silver in Contemporary Life and held in the Silver Galleries in the V&A.

Alongside the V&A event, there was a trade strand with a complementary exhibition at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in Clerkenwell focusing on skills and technique, alongside a trade symposium and academic conferences held at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and RCA.
